Leveling up the socials game for leeds codes

When Manchester Codes launched their coding bootcamp in Leeds, Light Sauce Studio was asked to take the existing Leeds Codes brand guidelines and create a social media campaign for its launch.

We wanted to make something a little different for a coding school, staying away from the ultra modern and polished, the male-leaning “tech guy” look.

What would stop the scroll for our target audience, the millennial that’s disenchanted with their current current job and is desperate to escape? What would appeal to women as much as men? What would look friendly, approachable and wholesome?

With those questions in mind and working with the brand’s existing branding and colour palette, we landed on this nostalgic gaming imagery and the idea of escaping your career into the wonderful world of tech.

eye-catching social media assets

The aim was for imagery to be friendly and make tech feel accessible. We did this by reference to gaming, which everyone is familiar with, tactile textures and approachable, emoji-like icons.

Assets created included graphics and motion graphics for use across platforms, Instagram stories and post designs, Instagram stories and post templates, Instagram and Facebook ads and LinkedIn assets.
